This is part of a false prophecy spoken by Hananiah, a prophet who contradicted Jeremiah around 594-593 BC. Jeconiah (also called Jehoiachin) was the young king of Judah who had been deported to Babylon in 597 BC along with thousands of other Jews during the first major exile. Hananiah was falsely promising that this exile would end quickly, within two years, which directly opposed Jeremiah's message that the exile would last 70 years.
