In the 7th century BC, during the reign of King Josiah's successors, Jeremiah was a prophet warning the people of Judah about their idolatry and moral decline, as the nation faced imminent judgment from God. God specifically sent him to Tophet, a notorious site in the Valley of Hinnom where child sacrifices and pagan rituals took place, to deliver a powerful prophecy of destruction.
