This prophecy was given during the reign of King Zedekiah, after Nebuchadnezzar had already taken some of Jerusalem's temple treasures and many people into exile in Babylon (around 597 BC). The 'pillars,' 'sea,' and other vessels were elaborate bronze furnishings that Solomon had made for the temple, and some still remained in Jerusalem at this time.
