Shiloh was an ancient worship center where the tabernacle once stood, but God allowed it to be destroyed because of Israel's unfaithfulness. Jeremiah is prophesying during the reign of King Jehoiakim, warning that Jerusalem's temple will suffer the same fate as Shiloh if the people don't repent. This prophecy was fulfilled when Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in 586 BC.
