✦ SIMPLIFICADO

Te he llamado por tu nombre; tú me perteneces.

This verse was written during Israel's time of exile in Babylon (around 586-538 BC), when the Jewish people had been forcibly removed from their homeland and felt abandoned by God. The prophet Isaiah was delivering God's message of comfort and hope to a defeated and displaced nation. God uses both names 'Jacob' and 'Israel' to emphasize His relationship with His chosen people from their very beginning as a nation.
