This occurred around 701 BC when King Hezekiah of Judah ruled Jerusalem. Hezekiah was one of the few kings who faithfully followed God and had recently experienced God's miraculous deliverance of Jerusalem from the Assyrian army. Isaiah was God's prophet during this period and served as both spiritual advisor and political counselor to the king.
