✦ SIMPLIFICADO

Ezekiel was a prophet among the Jewish exiles in Babylon during the 6th century BC, a time when Judah had been conquered and its people were facing God's judgment for their unfaithfulness. In this vision, God supernaturally transports Ezekiel to the temple in Jerusalem to expose the idolatry taking place, specifically an image that represented spiritual adultery and provoked God's jealousy as the one true God. This event highlights the ongoing theme in the Bible of God's intolerance for divided loyalties among His people.
