During the time of the Exodus, God was sending a series of plagues on Egypt to convince Pharaoh to release the Israelites from slavery. In Exodus 9, Moses warned of a severe hailstorm that would destroy anything left in the fields. Those among Pharaoh's servants who respected and feared the Lord's warning quickly brought their servants and livestock indoors to safety.
