✦ SIMPLIFICADO

In the book of Ezra, the Jewish people had returned from exile in Babylon and were working to restore their community in Jerusalem after years of captivity. They faced a crisis because many Israelites had married foreigners, which was forbidden under the Law of Moses as it could lead to adopting pagan practices and breaking their covenant with God. Ezra, as a leader, called for a structured assembly of rulers, elders, and those involved to address and resolve this issue to avert God's judgment.
