And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Zechariah was a prophet who ministered to the Jewish people after their return from Babylonian exile around 520 BC, urging them to rebuild and trust in God's promises. In this verse, he describes a future cataclysmic event involving flight to a valley for safety, drawing a parallel to a real historical earthquake during the reign of King Uzziah of Judah in the 8th century BC, which was a significant disaster that shook the nation and is also mentioned in Amos 1:1. This reference highlights how God uses past events to foreshadow His ultimate intervention in history.
