My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.
In the book of Nehemiah, the Jewish people were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem after returning from exile in Persia, a project led by Nehemiah as the governor to restore their city's defenses and identity. Enemies like Tobiah, an Ammonite official, and Sanballat, a Samaritan leader, opposed this effort through plots, intimidation, and hiring false prophets to undermine Nehemiah's resolve. In this verse, Nehemiah prays for God to remember and judge these adversaries, including the prophetess Noadiah, who tried to frighten him into abandoning his God-given task.
