✦ SIMPLIFICADO

During the 6th century BC, the Babylonian Empire under King Nebuchadnezzar was expanding its dominance, and God was using this empire as an instrument of judgment against the rebellious nations, including Judah and its neighbors, for their idolatry and unfaithfulness. In this prophecy from Jeremiah, God instructed the prophet to warn surrounding kings that refusing to submit to Babylonian rule would result in severe consequences, as it was part of His divine plan to discipline His people and restore order. This context reflects the broader biblical narrative of exile, where God's sovereignty over world events was demonstrated through the rise and fall of empires.
