This takes place around 538 BC when the Jewish exiles were returning to Jerusalem after 70 years of captivity in Babylon. The temple had been destroyed, but before rebuilding it, they first restored the altar for worship. Jeshua was the high priest and Zerubbabel was the governor who led this return.
