This concludes the story of Sheba's rebellion against King David. A wise woman from the besieged city of Abel Beth Maacah had negotiated with Joab, David's military commander, to save her city by promising to deliver the rebel leader. Her wisdom and diplomacy prevented the destruction of an entire city and ended a civil conflict.
