This refers back to when King Ahab and Queen Jezebel had Naboth falsely accused and killed so they could steal his vineyard (1 Kings 21). God had pronounced judgment through the prophet Elijah that Ahab's family would be destroyed. Now, years later, Ahab's son Joram has been killed by Jehu, and his body is being thrown onto Naboth's former property as God's justice is carried out.
