Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

King Hezekiah of Judah had become deathly ill and was told by the prophet Isaiah that he would die. Hezekiah then prayed earnestly to God, weeping and asking for his life to be extended. This verse is God's merciful response through Isaiah, promising healing and extending Hezekiah's life by fifteen years.
