Manasseh was the son of the good king Hezekiah and ruled the southern kingdom of Judah from approximately 697-642 BC. His 55-year reign was the longest of any king of Judah, spanning most of the 7th century BC during the height of Assyrian power. Despite his father's faithfulness to God, Manasseh would become known as one of the most wicked kings in Judah's history.
