King Hezekiah spoke these words to encourage the people of Jerusalem when the powerful Assyrian army under King Sennacherib was threatening to attack their city around 701 BC. The Assyrian empire had already conquered many surrounding nations and seemed unstoppable. Hezekiah was reminding his people that God's invisible army was more powerful than the visible enemy forces surrounding them.
