And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.
In the biblical narrative, King David was attempting to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem to symbolize God's presence among His people, as part of his efforts to establish a central place of worship. However, during the transport on a cart, when the oxen stumbled and the Ark appeared to tip, Uzzah reached out to steady it, which directly violated God's commands that the Ark be handled only by consecrated Levites in a specific manner. This event resulted in God's judgment on Uzzah, prompting David to name the site Perezuzzah, meaning "the breach of Uzzah," as a lasting reminder of the seriousness of God's holiness.
