This is Hezekiah's response after Isaiah prophesied that Babylon would one day carry away all of Judah's treasures and some of the royal family into exile. Hezekiah had just recovered from a life-threatening illness and had foolishly shown Babylonian envoys all his kingdom's wealth. Isaiah's prophecy was God's consequence for this unwise decision.
