This is part of King Hezekiah's prayer during the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem around 701 BC. The Assyrian Empire under Sennacherib had already conquered much of the ancient Near East, including the northern kingdom of Israel and many other nations. Hezekiah is praying to God while facing this seemingly unstoppable military force that had destroyed countless cities and kingdoms.
