This is part of Solomon's prayer at the dedication of the newly built temple in Jerusalem, around 960 BC. Solomon was asking God to hear prayers offered at the temple so that through answered prayers, all nations would come to know the LORD's power and uniqueness. In the ancient world, every nation had its own gods, so this was a bold declaration that Israel's God was the only real God among all the false gods of other nations.
