This is God's response to Solomon after he asked for wisdom to govern Israel well rather than asking for personal gain. Solomon had just become king after his father David's death and was offering sacrifices at Gibeon when God appeared to him in a dream. God was so pleased with Solomon's selfless request that He decided to bless him abundantly beyond what he asked.
