This is Elijah's prayer on Mount Carmel during the famous contest between him and the prophets of Baal. The Israelites had been worshiping false gods, and Elijah challenged them to see who the real God was by calling down fire from heaven. This prayer comes just before God dramatically answers by sending fire to consume the sacrifice, proving His power to all who witnessed it.
