📚 Contexto Histórico

In the biblical account, 1 Chronicles 10 describes the final defeat of King Saul and his sons in a battle against the Philistines, which marked the end of Saul's troubled reign as Israel's first king. Saul had been anointed by God but lost His favor due to repeated acts of disobedience, such as sparing King Agag and the Amalekite livestock against divine commands. This verse captures Saul's desperation on the battlefield, where he preferred death over capture and humiliation by his enemies, reflecting the broader theme of divine judgment in Israel's history.
