This is King Saul's response to the prophet Samuel after being confronted about his disobedience in failing to completely destroy the Amalekites as God commanded. Saul had kept the best livestock and spared King Agag, claiming it was for sacrifice to God. Samuel had just declared that God had rejected Saul as king because of his rebellion.
