For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
You are about to cross the Jordan River to enter and take possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving you. You will take control of it and live there.
God is promising the Israelites that they will successfully cross the Jordan River, claim the Promised Land, and make it their home.
📚 Historical Context
Moses is speaking to the Israelites just before his death, as they camp on the east side of the Jordan River after 40 years in the wilderness. The Promised Land of Canaan lies across the river, and Moses is preparing them for the conquest under Joshua's leadership. This represents the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham centuries earlier about giving his descendants this land.
