Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
Then he told me, 'Don't be afraid, Daniel. From the very first day you decided you really wanted to understand and humbled yourself before God, he heard every word you prayed. That's exactly why I'm here, because of your prayers.'
God hears you from day one and shows up because of your prayers, not in spite of them.
📚 Historical Context
Daniel was a Jewish prophet living in exile in the Persian Empire during the 6th century BC, a time when his people faced oppression and uncertainty under foreign rule. In Daniel 10, he had been fasting and praying for three weeks to seek understanding from God about a troubling vision concerning Israel's future. The angel who appeared to him affirmed that God heard his prayers immediately, though there was a delay due to spiritual opposition in the heavenly realms.
