For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
Evil spirits were literally screaming as they got kicked out of people who had been trapped by them. And people who couldn't move their bodies or walk? They were completely healed.
When God shows up, the darkness has to go and broken things get fixed.
📚 Historical Context
In the Book of Acts, chapter 8, this verse describes events during Philip's evangelistic mission in Samaria, which occurred after the persecution of the early church in Jerusalem following Stephen's martyrdom. At that time, Samaria was a region with a history of religious and cultural tensions with the Jews, and Philip's miracles, including casting out unclean spirits and healing the sick, served as powerful signs to authenticate the gospel message. These events highlight the early church's expansion into non-Jewish areas, fulfilling Jesus' directive to spread the faith beyond Jerusalem.
