This made the LORD very angry with Amaziah, so he sent a prophet to him who said, 'Why are you worshiping the gods of a people who couldn't even save their own people from your hands?'

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

God is confronting King Amaziah through a prophet, asking why he would worship gods that were powerless to protect their own people when he defeated them in battle.

📚 Historical Context

In the historical narrative of 2 Chronicles, Amaziah was the king of Judah who had recently achieved a military victory over the Edomites. Despite this success, he foolishly began to worship the gods of the Edomites, which were mere powerless idols that couldn't even protect their own people. This idolatry directly led to God's anger, prompting Him to send a prophet to confront and warn Amaziah about his unfaithfulness.
