Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
So the LORD said to Solomon, 'Since you have done this and have not kept my agreement and my laws that I commanded you to follow, I will definitely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants.'
