And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.
And also for the Levites: they will no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of its equipment used for worship.
This verse explains that the Levites no longer needed to transport the portable tabernacle and its sacred items because worship now had a permanent home.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of 1 Chronicles, King David is organizing the Levites for their roles in the upcoming temple that his son Solomon will build, as part of preparing for a more permanent place of worship. Previously, the Levites had been responsible for carrying the tabernacle, a portable tent sanctuary, and its vessels during the Israelites' journeys in the wilderness and early settlement. This verse marks a shift from a mobile worship structure to a fixed one in Jerusalem, reflecting the stability God was providing for His people after years of wandering.
